The Electoral College is an obsolete institution that undermines the citizens' involvement in government. If there were more than two candidates for an office, there would be a preliminary election to whittle it down to two regardless of party affiliation. That way, the winner of the general election for an office would receive a majority, however great or small, of the popular vote.
