Scientific: Name is Notechis scutatus.
CHARACTERISTICS: Tiger snakes are shy but will sometimes stand their ground before an intruder. When disturbed, tiger snakes may become extremely aggressive; they will flatten their necks and hiss to warn off predators, they usually strike low to the ground but very fast. Tiger snakes are active mainly at daytime or at dusk, but in hot weather they like to hunt at night.

VENOM: Tiger snakes have potent neurotoxic venom that is highly toxic. The average yield about 35mg.
FANGS: 3 to 5 small teeth and 2 rather long fangs.
The fangs are 3.5-5mm long.
SYMPTOMS: Bites result in unusual drowsiness unable to raise their eyebrows and difficulty in speaking and swallowing, sweat excessively, vomiting and respiratory paralysis, blood pressure may fall and muscle damage, which may lead to renal failure and even death in 2 to 3 hours.
