In the Third Meditation, Descartes sets out to create and argument for the existence of God. The purpose of this argument was for Descartes to fulfill his quest to have only true beliefs. Questioning things whenever possible in order to achieve this goal, Descartes breaks down existence from the very beginning leading into the third meditation. Descartes starts off his argument by noting that if there is a God, God may be deceiving him into "…showed first 75 words of 1147 total…

Even still, this meditation still raises a lot of questions about the existence of God and helped in waving in a new era of liberalism and secularism. With this in mind, I don't think the goal was to achieve an incorrigible foundation of knowledge but rather to advance his own agenda in an esoteric fashion that can be deciphered for years. <Tab/> <Tab/>
