This is an essay comparing the power of Religious, and political power in the middle ages, and how they clashed together.
Throughout the middle ages, there were two main powers that had control. These two powers had a lot of conflict with each other. The two Powers were Political and Religious leaders. Also, the power of these leaders changed throughout the Middle Ages. Pope Gelasius I suggested that originally the two powers, religious and political, were meant to be separate and equal. The Religious leaders also had more money, which forced the political leaders to come to the church for support when it came to taking large actions. As a result in shifting powers between church and political leaders, this greatly effected the future, and modern day life.
