Many people don't know what the safe streets act is, and they probably don't care because it doesn't affect their lives. But that's where they are wrong. The act is affecting everyone whether they realize it or not. So what happened to freedom of expression, the right to life and liberty, and security of the person? another tool to harass and arrest many people including the homeless ones, the panhandlers, and squeegee workers. With this law being too broad, the most loyal citizen is vulnerable. Instead of implementing this act the government should have focused on the root cause of homeless and unemployment. The safe streets act is just another way to remove the sight of poverty, but in actual fact removing it from sight does not permanently solve the problem.
