The trumpet has been one of the few instruments to pass the test of time, by adapting and changing with new music and uses. The trumpet has a very long history, beginning with ancient civilizations that used hollow materials such as animal horns and sea shells to amplify sound. Jazz forced both the player and the instrument to push their musical limits to the extreme.
