There has been great discussion and controversy over something that has recently been proposed to Canadians. This something is the Kyoto Accord. The Kyoto Accord is a doctrine that was put together to help reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions and therefore reduce the global warming phenomenon. If Canada was to agree with the Kyoto Protocol it would mean we would have to cut down greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2010. Many say this number

It would be irresponsible for us as a nation to commit to the Accord when we are not even close to being ready for it. Canada is not in a position financially, economically, and publically to commit to the Kyoto Accord. The basis for the Accord lacks credibility when there is no clear cut evidence of the true cause(s) of global warming. More research had to be done to the causes of global warming.
