The democratic political system has proved to be one of the best systems of government of all time. In a democratic system of government the majority rule is how decisions are reached. What about the voter that is not a part of a special interest group? They still have a vote and a voice, but they will most likely not be heard over the interest groups. So in a way the special interest groups do obstruct the majority rule in a democratic system.
