In the 1890's the United States became more aggressive and expansive than it had been for the past few decades. There was apparently a hunger for foreign conquest because they started to concur all the land they could grasp. The conflict with Spain derived mainly from the American desire to help the Cubans with their independence from Spain along with their own greed to gain more world power. …showed last 75 words of 872 total…national affairs. If it weren't for the time period that America was in, I doubt that they would enter in the war. Most of the publicists invoked Americans by placing faulty stories in their papers so that they could make more money then the competition. And it proves that America was just money hungry and just wanted to get into the war for the benefit of themselves. Therefore the war is unjustified in my eyes.
