Percy Shelley was a religious man, as is evident from his writings. He found in the events that occur in nature, be the song being sung by one small bird or the noise and destruction of a great storm, a religious quality. He was also able to explain many biblical events by writing their stories from the point of view of them being occurrences in nature.
