Romania is responsible for the deaths of between 280 000 and 400 000 Jews during the Holocaust, approximately half of its Jewish population. The Holocaust stands out from all other major world events because of the barbaric nature and malious intent of the gruesome acts carried out by Nazi Germany and their allies.
