Today's Islamic countries have for the most part, placed the woman's role in society back to a pre-Islamic culture. While there are many women in Islam that are recognized as World leader's or scholars, the vast majority are living in a world that is little more than slavery, and as have attempted to point out, this role goes against what the Qur'an states.
