Throughout history, society has faced many challenges and overcome many obstacles. However, a nemesis of society which has never been overcome to this day is poverty. Even in a wealthy country such as Canada, about 3 million or 1 in every 10 Canadians live in a household where getting enough food is a constant worry. Overall, Solomon has created a well written article on poverty. Although his points seem logical, the arguments are too weak and simplistic to make a strong case to persuade readers that poverty is not so bad and that poverty is a choice. Poverty is not an option for must, but merely a consequence of poor judgement, bad choices or just plain bad luck.
