This having been said, the state of events in our world today and the composition of things is better accounted for by the Ionians, where the Old Testament barely delved into the concept at all. The Bible is a wonderful expression of religion, but not a very good one of natural events on the earth. Although their disunity may have weakened their ideas, perhaps the Ionians are the true forefathers of modern thought.
