riches while the Separatists who settled in New England were looking for isolation from the church. New England eventually grew into larger cities while down south in Virginia tobacco was still a major part of their way of life. However, instead of indentured servants they used African slaves. Therefore, even though the colonists were all from the same mother country of England, the dissimilarity of their intentions greatly impacted their evolution to two distinct societies.
