Countless wars waged have been waged throughout the course of human existence that have killed millions of people. Two World Wars alone can account for a fair share of double-digit slayings. At any given time there may be numerous smaller wars being waged through out the world and given the enormous loss in human life, the issue arises as to whether, and under what conditions is war justifiable.

and reason of just war theory, perhaps the twentieth century would have gotten off to a better start. In effect, had the participants of the First Great War been open to the humane criteria proposed in just war theory, then perhaps the handling of those dilemmas would have presented us with a map of how to better deal with present crisis', which would allow for a more peaceful world today as well as the future.
