People usually know more about their own culture, but people also know something about other cultures too, whether it is true or not. These stereotypes are very damaging to many Indians, and if you don't think so then put yourself in there shoes and watch an Indian movie such as The Searchers. When society looks upon Indians as being someone who is dumb, evil or just worthless then blame it on the movies and the white people who make them.
