Tab/>8 Mile, on the surface, is a drama about the struggles of a musician trying to become recognized as a serious artist. But on a more thematic level, it is about acceptance and respect. The plot and dialogue point out the importance of overcoming one's insecurities, facing one's fears, and coming to accept one's reality. Through all of these factors, this modern age musical lends itself to be quite appealing to today's audiences.
