Their decisions and their votes are a representation of their electoral platforms and their personal beliefs. The voting public often feels disenfranchised from their government and one way of bridging the gap between the public and the policymakers is by organizing a party of citizens and pursuing a common goal in unison.

Asking for better oversight of lobbying and asking Congressmen and Senators to account for every donation or contribution made to them in return for decisions is like asking Bonny and Clyde to design better bank security systems. As long as it is profitable to all parties involved, any major restructuring of lobbying laws are not going to get voted on and will be, ironically, lobbied against.
