Harriet Beecher Stowe played a very significant role in the civil war. Many people today still agree that Harriet Beecher Stowes novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was one of the reasons for starting the civil war. Even before Harriet Beecher Stowe's book was released many northerners were against the ideas of slavery, though they didn't understand the harsh realities of being a slave. We think she was a very significant character to the civil war and what makes her so special is the fact that she was a woman with an opinion and wasn't afraid to show it. She should be an inspiration to all women.
