A ruptured cerebral aneurysm is a possible life threatening event. A person that has a cerebral aneurysm may experience excruciating headaches due to a bulge in an artery. Coiling may appear to be the breakthrough method in treating aneurysms, patients should take Dr. Tommy Thompson's advice when he says "We won't know for sure how effective the coils are until we follow patients for 10 years or more."(Gupta 77)
