I am among those people who suffered from the torture during the years of 1975-79. The Khmer Rouge took over the Khmer Empire in 1975 as Democratic Kampichea, ending a 600-year monarchy. So, we decided to travel across from Phnom Penh back to Battambong so that we can stay in Thailand for a while until this raged war over. I am currently stationed in Thailand with my family waiting for this war to end. Luckily all members of my family are still alive.
