Samuel Adams
In my opinion the man who has had the greatest impact on the development of the United States is
Samuel Adams. Samuel Adams is known for two things: first his beer and secondly as the father of
American independence. Since beer has nothing to do with history i will focus on his involvement in, and
the events leading up to, the American War for Independence.

ready to fight at a minutes notice. On April 19, 1775 British troops were ordered to
Lexington to Captdure Samuel Adams and John Hancock. This sparked the Battle of Lexington which was
the start of the Revolutionary war.
None of the other founding fathers did more to break ties with England and become independent
than Samuel Adams. Somepeoplethinkhe might have taken it too far at times but he knew what he wanted
and he strove for it.
