In 1778, an alliance between America and France was created. The Franco - American alliance of 1778 bound the United States to help the French defend their West Indies against future foes. The Embargo Act and Washington's neutrality proclamation both aided in the dodging of going into war with Britain and France. Without these two leaders, we would of surely gone into war, unhappily altering all the history books. (This is pretty short, so i may suggest adding a little more to the length of the information and text)
